A senior official said, “NTA scores are normalized marks that are designed to measure the same across question papers of an examination conducted in multiple shifts. These marks are determined on the basis of the relative performance of all the candidates who appeared for the examination in that shift.

The marks obtained by the candidates in each shift are converted into a scale from 0 to 100. NTA marks do not equate to percentage of marks obtained.” According to NTA officials, a central control room was opened to monitor and facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination.
