Atmosphere heated up after Indian team’s victory against Pakistan in T20 World Cup, watch video

Colombo. In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, India not only gave a crushing defeat to Pakistan but also almost confirmed its place in the Super 8. Amidst this spectacular victory by 61 runs, an incident was also seen on the field, which created some tension among the Indian players for some time.

In the match, India batted first and scored a strong score of 175 runs for 7 wickets. In reply, Pakistan’s innings remained under pressure and its entire team was all out in 18 overs. Despite this big victory, there came a moment during the match which heated up the atmosphere in the dressing room for some time.

What was the whole matter?
Actually, during the match, Kuldeep Yadav dropped an easy catch of Shaheen Afridi on the boundary line. In the 18th over, Shaheen tried to play a slog on the second ball of Hardik Pandya and the ball went high. Kuldeep was well set under the ball, but due to lack of concentration in the last moments, the ball slipped from his hands and fell straight across the boundary and six runs were added to the batsman’s account.

Even wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan could not catch the previous ball. Bowler Hardik Pandya looked angry after missing two consecutive chances. After the match ended, when the players were returning to the dressing room, Hardik was seen talking sharply to Kuldeep Yadav. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was also seen angry at Kuldeep. During that time, worry was visible on Tilak Verma’s face, while Rinku Singh was seen trying to calm the atmosphere.

The reason for Hardik Pandya’s displeasure was clear. If Kuldeep Yadav had taken that catch, the match would have ended immediately. Instead, 6 runs were scored in his bowling account and he had to bowl extra balls. In big matches, even such small mistakes cause emotional reactions for the players.

However, after this incident, Hardik Pandya showed great professionalism. He controlled himself and secured India’s victory by taking the wicket of Usman Tariq on the last ball of the 18th over. His bowling proved that he has the ability to finish the match despite pressure. This victory of India was special in many ways. On one hand the team performed brilliantly under pressure, on the other hand it also showed how serious the players remain about small mistakes despite victory. This professional attitude makes the team stronger in big tournaments.
