Actually, Pakistan used 6 spin bowlers in this match played in Colombo, while fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled only 2 overs. However, the Indian batsmen batted brilliantly on a difficult pitch and scored 175 runs. After this, Pakistan, chasing the target of 176 runs in the second innings, looked under complete pressure. Their batsmen could not do anything special. After Pakistan’s crushing defeat, Salman Ali Aga said, “We trusted our spinners and today they had a bad day. There was a lack of execution in some parts of the game. We are obviously always going to trust our spinners because they have done very well in the last six months. And in batting I think we did not start well and in T20 games if we lose 3 or 4 wickets in the powerplay, you are always chasing the game.”
When asked why did you decide to bat second? On this, Agha said, “I think, to be honest, like it was a bit tacky in the first innings. The ball was gripping as well. So, I think, there was a lack of execution in terms of bowling, but I think the pitch played better in the second innings than in the first innings. But our bowlers, we did not bowl as per the situation. And when it comes to batting, we did not apply ourselves and we did not have depth in the game. Gave a chance to go till.”
