Unprecedented increase in sales of sexual wellness products on Valentine’s Day

India is progressing not only in terms of population but also in terms of awareness. Earlier on Valentine’s Day, people used to buy flowers, chocolates and various gifts, but now the demand for condoms and other sexual wellness products has increased. This year the sales of these products have broken the record of 2025.


Increase in sales of sexual wellness products

Now people prefer to shop online, and as per recent reports, sexual wellness products have seen a significant increase in sales between February 7 and 14. According to Instamart report, this year on Valentine’s Day, people ordered three times more sexual wellness products than in 2025.

The report states that sales of condoms and other intimacy products have increased three times year on year. Earlier people used to shy away from talking openly on these topics, but now this change shows that people have started thinking openly on these issues and no longer consider them taboo.


Increase in beauty and personal care also

Apart from sexual wellness, beauty and personal care products have also seen a huge growth. According to the report, demand for bath, body and makeup items was highest during Valentine’s Day. A customer in Cuttack bought makeup worth ₹15,093 in a single order, while another customer in Surat ordered hair care and bath products worth ₹10,845.

Kolkata left other cities behind

However, demand for chocolates and teddy bears was also high. A person in Kolkata ordered chocolates worth ₹25,000. Soft toy sales saw a 568 percent increase on Teddy Day. In terms of Valentine cards, Bengaluru left behind cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
