Apple Sets March 4 ‘Special Apple Experience’ Event

Apple has officially confirmed its first major event of 2026, scheduled for March 4. The company has branded it as a “Special Apple Experience” and has sent invitations for simultaneous gatherings in New York, London and Shanghai.

The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET (14:00 UTC / 7:30 p.m. IST). So far, there has been no mention of a livestream, indicating that this may be a press-focused showcase rather than a large global keynote presentation.

iPhone 17e Likely to Debut

One of the expected announcements is the successor to the iPhone 16e. The rumored iPhone 17e is said to continue Apple’s entry-tier approach while adding features typically seen in higher-end models.

Leaks suggest support for MagSafe, the A19 chip, and possibly an OLED display with a Dynamic Island-style design. An upgraded front camera is also being discussed. If these details prove accurate, the new “e” model could significantly narrow the gap between Apple’s budget and standard iPhone lineup.

MacBook Refresh Expected

Mac updates are also widely anticipated. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models may transition to M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Meanwhile, the MacBook Air is expected to adopt the base M5 processor. These upgrades are likely to be routine generational improvements rather than major design overhauls.

More notably, reports point to a possible low-cost MacBook powered by an A-series chipset instead of an M-series chip. If introduced at a price below $800, this would mark a strategic shift in Apple’s laptop portfolio. The device is expected to retain an aluminum build while reducing production costs. Some reports also hint at more vibrant color options, which would be unusual for recent MacBook models.

Possible iPad and Display Updates

Updates to the iPad Air and standard iPad models are also rumored, potentially featuring newer processors. There is additional speculation about a refreshed Apple Studio Display with Mini-LED technology and a higher refresh rate, though this remains less certain.

The “Special Apple Experience” branding suggests that Apple may focus on hands-on interaction with new hardware rather than a scripted keynote format.
