Spinners shine as India A beats Nepal at ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars, all but assured of semifinal spot

Tanuja Kanwer and Minnu Manni picked seven wickets between them as India A bundled out Nepal for a paltry 78 and cruised to an eight-wicket win in the ongoing ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok.

Opener Vrinda Dinesh struck a quickfire 17-ball 37, scoring seven boundaries and finishing the match with a six to help India A secure back-to-back victories and a semifinal berth.

Choosing to bowl first on Tuesday, India’s bowlers never allowed Nepal to settle. Opener Samjhana Khadka was the lone batter to cross 20 as Nepal was skittled out for 55.

Tanuja’s four-wicket haul and Minnu’s three-fer came at economies of three and two, respectively, while skipper Radha Yadav took two wickets in her three overs.

India A lost an early wicket as Deeya Yadav fell in the first over, but Vrinda, coming on the back of a half-century, guided the side comfortably past the finish line.

With two wins from three matches, India A sits atop Group A and is virtually assured of a semifinal berth. The side will, however, have to wait for the result of the Pakistan A vs UAE match for formal confirmation.
