Mother’s anger over Sahil’s death: Money cannot buy law
Sahil’s mother There are no tears in the eyes, there is only fire. He said not in a trembling voice, but in a voice as firm as stone – No one can scare me. I have nothing left to lose now.
Sahil was their only son. While talking to a channel, she says that my child was not an ordinary child. My child used to bring 2 medals a day. His name was in every school competition. Be it sports, studies, debate – he was perfect in everything. The medals adorning his cupboard are not just pieces of metal, they are the reflection of his hard work, his dreams and his mother’s pride.
That day too, when he left the house in the morning, his mother kissed his forehead. Little did they know that it would be the last time. After some time, news came that while racing on the road, a speeding car of some boys hit Sahil. People say that the speed of the car was so much that after the collision Sahil jumped about 25 feet.
So much speed was visible in his own reel on social media… as if the road was a playground. Laughter, noise, screeching sound of the car and then silence. I have seen that reel. The eyes were dry. He just said – I want justice. He questioned whether any parent can turn their children into monsters and run on the road on the basis of money. Money can buy a car, but not understanding. Money can give power, but not responsibility.
People came to scare. There was talk of compromise. He will be the rich man of his house…” Sahil’s helpless mother said – My son was also everything to my house. The only difference is that he never took anyone’s life. Even today, Sahil’s room is the same. His trophies are kept on the table. Medals are hung on the wall. And mother stands in front of him every morning and says – My son’s death will not go away.
Her voice is no longer just that of a mother. She is the voice of every mother who wants to see her child return home safely. That’s a cry for every road that isn’t a race track. It is a challenge to every system where money is considered greater than justice.
Sahil left…
But his mother’s courage is alive.
And until we get justice,
She won’t be afraid – because really…
Now he has nothing left to lose.
