Sukant Majumdar warns of job loss due to association with Trinamool!

Following the Election Commission of India’s decision to suspend seven Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) deployed during the ongoing Special Intensive Review (SIR) in West Bengal, Union Minister of State Sukant Majumdar on Monday said strict action will be taken against officers who act in a biased manner.

Speaking to reporters, Sukant Majumdar said, “The Election Commission has ordered suspension of officials of seven blocks, including Ghatal, Shamsherganj and Sutiya. These officials tried to include ineligible voters in the voter list against the rules and without any proper reason.”

He said that now through technology it has become easier to check records and detect irregularities. This is the time of technology. Everything can be checked with the help of AI. That’s why I have said earlier also that officials should work impartially.

Sukant Majumdar warned, “If you work for Trinamool, the Election Commission will take action. No one will be able to save your job. It is important to work in a fair and transparent manner to strengthen democracy.”

He also appealed to the officers to follow democratic principles and maintain impartiality in their duties. Earlier, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Suvendu Adhikari welcomed the Election Commission’s decision to suspend seven AEROs engaged in the ongoing SIR process in West Bengal.

He was talking to reporters outside Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport before leaving for Delhi.

Suvendu Adhikari said, “Despite the election related provisions, till now the Election Commission was advising the Chief Secretary, but this is the first time that the Election Commission has used its power in the SIR process. After this, if the Election Commission wants, it can also file an FIR.”

The BJP leader further said, “These seven people have been suspended for valid reasons. They accepted fake school certificates. Accepted PAN cards in the SIR hearing process. They have completely violated the 13 guidelines of the Election Commission.”

Suvendu Adhikari alleged that these irregularities were done on the instructions of the Mamata Banerjee government. He alleged, “All this has been done under the pressure of State Secretary Nandini Chakraborty. The DM or DEO did this and through Nandini Chakraborty, Mamata Banerjee is running the entire racket.”
