Top losers among Nifty 50 stocks in midday trades today, Feb 17: Eternal down 2.7%, Hindalco Industries falls 2.0%, Shriram Finance drops 1.6%, Trent slips 1.4%

Indian benchmark indices were trading in positive territory in midday deals on February 17 (IST), but select heavyweight stocks from the Nifty 50 pack remained under pressure.

As of 12 PM IST, the Nifty was trading at 25,732.60, up 49.85 points or 0.19%, while the Sensex stood at 83,530.45, higher by 253.30 points or 0.30%. Despite the broader strength, the following stocks emerged as the top losers on the index.

Leading the decline was Eternal, which was trading at ₹278.8, down 2.7% from its previous close. The stock saw notable selling interest during the session.

Hindalco Industries was also among the top laggards, trading at ₹889.0, lower by 2.0% compared to the previous close.

Shriram Finance declined 1.6% to ₹1,068.0, placing it among the notable losers in midday trade.

Trent slipped 1.4% to ₹4,170.9, while Tata Steel also fell 1.4% to ₹203.0.

Among other stocks witnessing declines, Eicher Motors traded at ₹7,930.0, down 1.0%, and Power Grid Corporation of India was lower by 1.0% at ₹297.6.

Reliance Industries slipped 0.9% to ₹1,424.5, while Mahindra & Mahindra declined 0.8% to ₹3,481.0.

Cipla was also in the red, trading at ₹1,345.4, down 0.8% from its previous close.

The declines in these stocks capped gains in the broader index even as benchmark indices held marginal gains in midday trading.
