One of the most popular compact SUVs in India Maruti Suzuki Brezza is now all set to debut in a new avatar. The company is preparing to introduce a facelifted model. New Brezza It was spotted testing recently, which suggests that the 2026 model could feature several major updates. Everyone is curious to know what new features might come in the facelifted model of Brezza and let’s find out what the features are.

Good news for CNG users

The biggest change is expected to be seen in its CNG variant. Currently, the biggest problem with CNG cars is that the gas cylinder takes up space in the trunk (boot space). There is talk that the new Brezza could be mounted under the floor instead of in the trunk. The underbody CNG tank will free up space for the cylinder in the trunk, giving more storage space. A similar design was seen in the recently launched Victoris.

What will be the design changes?

The design of the car will remain the same, but there will be some new changes. For example, the car can have new alloy wheels, giving it a fresh look. The side body cladding (black strip) could be slimmer, giving the car a more attractive and clean look.

Hi-tech features and interior

The interior and the CNG version may also undergo significant changes. The new spy images show a larger touchscreen in the Brezza’s cabin, likely measuring 10.1 inches, instead of the current 9-inch screen. Additionally, features like ventilated seats and new trim elements may also be added. The CNG version will have Maruti’s new underbody S-CNG layout, which will increase the boot space. Overall, if the 6-speed manual and the new turbo engine make it to launch, the 2026 Brezza will be Maruti’s biggest and most significant update so far.

Talk about the engine

There is also a lot of talk about the engine. Currently, the Brezza comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 99 bhp. However, reports suggest that the 2026 Brezza could be equipped with Maruti’s new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is already available in the Swift and Dzire. The 1.2-litre engine will place the Brezza in the sub-1200cc tax bracket, making it easier to control costs. Moreover, the turbocharged engine will increase its efficiency.

New gearbox

The current Brezza comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, there is talk that the 1.5-litre petrol engine may now be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox instead of the 5-speed. This will make highway driving easier and also improve fuel efficiency.
