T-20 World Cup 2026- Pakistan defeated in front of India, India reached Super-8 with pride
Friends, on February 15, India faced its arch-rival Pakistan in the Super 8 stage matches in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, in which India once again defeated Pakistan and proudly reached the Super-8. In its third league match, India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in Colombo and gave a strong message to the other contending teams of the tournament.
With this emphatic win, India has taken its head-to-head record against Pakistan to 8-1 in T20 World Cup history. Ishan Kishan’s tremendous innings created an atmosphere
After winning the toss, Pakistan took the lead early on by dismissing Abhishek Sharma without opening an account in the very first over. However, this early success did not slow down India’s momentum.
Opening batsman Ishan Kishan launched a counter-attack which completely changed the momentum. The left-handed batsman played a brilliant inning of 77 runs in just 40 balls, scoring his second consecutive half-century in the tournament. His fearless stroke play on a slightly difficult pitch laid the foundation of a difficult total.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs, while Tilak Verma added 25 runs. In the death overs, Shivam Dubey (27) and Rinku Singh (11) accelerated the scoring to take India to a strong total of 175 — a total that looked to be a match-winner from the start.
The bowlers sealed the match
Pakistan’s chase had a very poor start. Hardik Pandya dismissed Sahibzada Farhan without opening the account in the first over. But, the second big blow came in the second over when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sam Ayub and Pakistan captain Salman Aga in quick succession, which panicked the opposition team.
Ultimately Pakistan was out for just 114 runs in 18 overs. Hardik, Bumrah, Axar and Varun Chakraborty took two wickets each, while Tilak Verma and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
