He has become the youngest player to score a century in the T20 World Cup.
NZ vs CAN T20 World Cup: Canadian opening batsman Yuvraj Samra scored a historic century in the T20 World Cup 2026. He scored 110 runs in just 65 balls in a do-or-die match against New Zealand, which included 6 sixes and 11 fours. Yuvraj has become the youngest player to score a century in the history of T20 World Cup. His father named him after Yuvraj Singh. Canada won the toss and decided to bat first at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Yuvraj Samra and captain Dilpreet Bajwa made a century partnership for the first wicket. The first wicket of the team fell on 116 runs in the form of captain Bajwa. Bajwa scored 36 runs in 39 balls, after which Yuvraj completed his century.

Last night Pathum Nissanka became the first batsman to score a century in the T20 World Cup 2026. Today Yuvraj Samra also scored a century. He became the first batsman from an Associate nation to score a century and the highest individual innings scorer so far in this edition. Batting first, Canada scored 173 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 174 runs, Finn Allen got off to a fast start, but with the fall of two wickets in a row, it seemed that Canada could make a comeback in the match. Tim Seifert was out after scoring 6 runs on the fourth ball of the third over. Finn Allen (21) was also out in the very next over. After this, Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips remained at the crease till the end. Rachin scored 59 runs in 39 balls while Glenn Phillips scored 76 runs in 36 balls. New Zealand secured its place in the Super-8 by winning the match by 8 wickets.
