Patna. Bihar government has made an important announcement for the teachers of the state on Tuesday. Education Minister Sunil Kumar said in the Assembly that from now onwards all categories of teachers will get uniform residential allowance (HRA). This step is an important step towards ensuring the rights of teachers and providing them better facilities.
Discrepancy resolution process
The Education Minister informed that 90 per cent of HRA discrepancies in the state have already been resolved, and the remaining 10 per cent cases will be resolved soon. After this, no teacher across the state will face any discrimination in the matter of HRA. This announcement was made in response to a question asked by Ajay Kumar in the Assembly.
What is HRA discrepancy?
At present many employed and specialized teachers are not getting the benefit of HRA in urban areas, whereas according to Bihar Gazette, specialized teachers and employed teachers should get 10 percent HRA in urban areas and 5 percent to 7.5 percent in rural areas. In many districts, teachers were suffering financial losses due to HRA discrepancy. Now the Education Minister has ensured that these discrepancies will be removed soon.
Teachers will get full benefits
Education Minister Sunil Kumar clarified that there will be no discrimination at the government level and all teachers will avail the residential allowance equally. He also said that in this matter, work has been done to a great extent to remove pay discrepancies between teaching and non-teaching staff.
