Now there are reports that Gambhir has received an offer to return to IPL again. According to reports, the potential new owner of Rajasthan Royals (RR) wants to include him with them. According to Dainik Jagran’s report, Gambhir has been given not one but three big offers – the proposal to become the partner, mentor and CEO of the team. Gambhir has good experience in team management and strategy, so Rajasthan Royals want to include him in a bigger administrative and strategic role.

impossible to accept offer now
However, in the current circumstances it is not easy to accept this proposal. According to the decision of the Supreme Court following the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, the current coach of Team India cannot work as a partner, mentor or in an administrative position with any IPL franchise. Gambhir’s tenure is considered to be fixed till the 2027 ODI World Cup. In such a situation, as long as he is the head coach of the Indian team, it does not seem possible for him to return to any role in the IPL. However, if Rajasthan Royals keeps this offer till 2028, then he may return to IPL after his tenure with Team India ends.
Eye on Olympic medal
The report also claims that Gambhir is eyeing a medal for India in the Olympics. If he is successful in leading the team to titles in T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup, his coaching tenure can be extended till 2028 Olympics. Now it will be interesting to see to what extent Gambhir reaches his current mission with the Indian team and whether he returns to IPL in future or not.
