Jason Statham set to play himself in new action-comedy?

After years of portraying fearless action heroes, but now, Jason Statham is taking it to another level by playing a version of himself, as per Deadline.

In the upcoming project Jason Statham Stole my Bikethe 58-year-old English actor will step into his own shoes, playing himself.

He is teaming up with David Leitch, the filmmaker behind Deadpool 2 and Bullet Trainfor the action packed comedy.

The movie is set to begin filming in May and despite being an independent production, targeting a PG-13 rating for a mass appeal, it has a hefty budget of $80 million.

Although the plot and the title remains to be unknown, the publication stated that Jason is “in the role of a lifetime, playing global action superstar Jason Statham,”

In addition to directing, David is also producing with his wife Kelly McCormick through their company 87North, with Black Bear productions on board as well.

The script will be written by Alison Flierl, known for her work on BoJack Horseman.

Jason is known for his films like The Beekeeper, The Transporter, A Working Man, Wrath of Man, The Meg, and more.
