Mohsin Naqvi sent a special message to Pakistani players
New Delhi, 17 February 2026: The Indian cricket team has defeated Pakistan in the high-voltage match played in the T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan could not stand anywhere during the entire match and India had a one-sided victory. After this defeat, an earthquake like situation has been created in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB chairman sent a message to the players of the Pakistani team and expressed his displeasure over such weak performance in important matches. On the other hand, there are concerns that Babar Azam and Afridi may be dropped from the team after the World Cup.
Indian opener Ishaan Kishan had thoroughly thrashed the Pakistani bowlers. Only Usman Tariq was a little effective from Pakistan, but no other bowler could stop the Indian batsmen. Against India’s strong score, the Pakistani team was scattered like a palace of cards. PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi, who had specially come to Colombo to watch the match, was seen cheering the players before the start of the match. However, when the 61-run defeat against India seemed certain, Naqvi R. Premadasa could not sit in the stadium and left the stadium even before the match was over.
According to the report, Naqvi has expressed immense displeasure towards the players through team manager Naved Akram Cheema. He has made it clear that such weak performance in important matches is not acceptable. Head coach Mike Hess also scolded the players in the dressing room. Now there are signs of big changes in Pakistan cricket. According to sources, the management has decided to drop Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi from the playing 11 and give a chance to Naseem Shah, Salman Mirza and Fakhar Zaman.
Now the situation is very serious for Pakistan. Pakistan will face Namibia on Wednesday. If Namibia wins this match, Pakistan will be thrown out of the World Cup from the group stage itself.
