Audi is warming up the spotlight for the all-new RS5 Avant, and the first official teaser has now landed on social media. But here’s the thing: while Audi is playing the slow-burn game, early images of the performance wagon have already surfaced, giving us a clear look at what’s coming. And yes, it looks every bit as aggressive as you’d hope.

The next-generation RS5 will be offered in both Avant and sedan body styles, but it’s the Avant that steals the show. It blends everyday practicality with proper RS muscle, a formula Audi has quietly mastered over the years.

Exterior: Wider, Louder, Sharper

One glance is enough to tell that this is no ordinary A5. Up front, the signature Singleframe grille dominates the face, flanked by massive air intakes that mean business. The wheel arches are visibly pumped up, giving the car a wider, more planted stance on the road.

Audi has gone all-in on RS detailing at the rear, too. There’s an aggressive diffuser, neatly integrated, and those iconic twin oval exhaust tips sit proudly on either side. Lighting tech is another highlight. Sleek LED headlamps feature pixel-style DRLs, while slim taillights at the back are connected by a full-width light bar, adding visual drama, especially at night.

Interior: Digital, Sporty, Purpose-Built

Step inside, and the RS5 leans heavily into modern performance luxury. The cabin is dominated by a large central touchscreen paired with Audi’s fully digital cockpit, both crisp and driver-focused.

The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara for added grip and that unmistakable RS feel. Bucket seats with prominent side bolstering hug you tight, finished with RS branding to remind you exactly what you’re driving. It’s a space designed to feel special without sacrificing usability, which has always been an RS strong suit.

Powertrain: Hybrid Muscle with Serious Numbers

Under the bonnet is where things get really interesting. The new RS5 adopts a plug-in hybrid setup built around a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6. Combined system output stands at a hefty 639 hp, pushing this RS firmly into supercar territory.

Performance figures back that up. Audi is targeting a 0–62 mph sprint in around 3.4 seconds. Despite the firepower, efficiency hasn’t been ignored. Thanks to the hybrid system, the RS5 is expected to offer an electric-only range of up to 50 miles, making it surprisingly usable for short daily runs.

Launch Timeline: Orders and Deliveries

According to sources, order books for the new-generation Audi RS5 are set to open around mid-March. First customer deliveries are expected to begin in June, putting this high-performance hybrid firmly on the roads by early summer.

What this really means is that Audi isn’t just evolving the RS5, it’s redefining it. Faster, smarter, and still unmistakably RS.
