Indore: A sensational case that came to light from Indore highlights the horrific consequences of increasing distrust and anger in relationships. A 24-year-old MBA student’s boyfriend has been arrested for her murder. Police say that after a dispute over marriage, the accused took her life by strangulating her and later did strange things and even tried to perform tantric rituals. On January 13, a complaint was received about foul smell coming from a rented flat in Dwarkapuri area of Indore.
People nearby informed the police. When the door was broken, the girl’s body was found naked on the bed. Initial investigation revealed that she was murdered by strangulation. Marks of rope were found on the neck and the body was said to be several days old. During investigation, it was found that this flat was taken on rent by Piyush Dhamnodiya, her boyfriend who was studying with the girl. Based on suspicion, the police started searching for him and later arrested him from Mumbai.
From disappearance to murder
The girl’s father had filed her missing report on February 11. They told that they had dropped her near the Collector’s office a day earlier, but she did not return home. When the police identified the body found in the flat, they took the investigation forward by linking the case of missing and murder.
There was a dispute regarding marriage
During interrogation, the accused reportedly told that he was in a relationship with the girl for a long time. Both wanted to get married, but due to family disagreements there were frequent fights. On the day of the incident, they met in the flat to resolve their differences. According to the police, physical relations developed between the two, but later the dispute regarding marriage increased again. Enraged, the accused allegedly strangulated her and tied her with a rope.
The accused tried to perform tantric ritual
According to officials, after the incident, the accused stayed in the flat for some time and then locked it and fled away. He reached Panvel in Maharashtra, where he stayed in a hotel. Police claim he tried to perform tantric rituals there, saying he wanted to summon the girl’s spirit. Later he went to Mumbai and kept roaming in local trains. It is being told that he had also taken the girl’s mobile phone with him and later destroyed it, so that the evidence could be destroyed.
New aspects emerged in the investigation
Police say that the accused suspected that the girl used to talk to other people through mobile app. Because of this, distrust increased between them. At the same time, the girl’s father alleged that his daughter’s personal photos and videos were spread online, due to which she was under mental stress.
He also claimed that he was being blackmailed and pressurized to pay the education fees of the accused. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishna Lal Chandani, the interrogation of the accused is ongoing. Digital evidence, call detail records and forensic reports are being examined.
