2026 Oscars’ Biggest Movie Snub Is Out Today on Digital

One of 2026’s biggest Oscar snubs is officially out digitally today, allowing fans to check out one of the best movies of 2025.

No Other ChoicePark Chan-wook’s latest directorial effort, is available to watch now at home. The film, which is based on Donald E. Westlake’s novel The Ax, follows the story of Man-su, a man desperately on the hunt for a new job after he’s abruptly laid off at the paper company he worked at.

The movie is led by Lee Byung-hun (G.I. Joe, Squid Game) and Son Ye-jin (The Last Princess, Crash Landing to You). The movie premiered in theaters on Christmas 2025, and was widely praised, holding a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes for critics, and a 93% audience score on the site.

No Other Choice is directed and produced by Park Chan-wook, who gained international recognition for his work in acclaimed movies such as The Vengeance trilogy, The Handmaiden, and Decision to Leave. The screenplay is written by Lee Kyoung-mi, Don McKellar, and Jahye Lee, based on the 1997 novel The Ax by Donald Westlake. Producers are Back Jisun, Michèle Ray Gavras, and Alexandre Gavras, with Miky Lee serving as an executive producer.

This marks the latest collaboration between the filmmaker and NEON, following the successful re-release of Oldboy in theaters and a limited deluxe edition 4K UHD Blu-ray to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2023. Park’s most recent project was last year’s HBO miniseries The Sympathizer, which earned Robert Downey Jr. an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
