BLA mask or something else? How dangerous is PFF making Pakistan cry ‘tears of blood’?
A new name emerging on the Islamabad-Tehran border is People’s Fighters Front (PFF). It has the potential to change the security calculus of South Asia. This alliance suddenly came to the fore amid long simmering discontent in the Baloch areas and in no time came on the radar of security agencies. It is believed that this is the joint face of many militant organizations there including Baloch Liberation Army. The question is, is PFF really Pakistan Is it becoming a major threat to India, or is it the new face of the old trend of regional extremism?
Recently, it had carried out a major suicide attack on the 172nd Wing Bajaur Scouts deployed in Mamund (Malangi) area of Bajaur district of Khyber Fakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. 16 Pakistani soldiers and four civilians have died in this attack. People’s Fighters Front has taken responsibility for this attack. It is even said that this is the same terrorist organization active on the Pak-Iran border, which had kidnapped Kulbhushan Jadhav.
PFF is being said to be a new face of Jaish al-Adl, active with the support of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Today the same forces are making Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir cry, who is seeing blood flowing in his own soil.
What is People’s Fighters Front?
People’s Fighters Front i.e. PFF is a name discussed as a militant organization. It is being counted among the armed groups operating inside Pakistan, which is said to be linked to violent activities against the state.
History of PFF: When and how did it emerge?
The PFF has emerged in recent years against the backdrop of growing discontent and regional insurgency in Pakistan. In some reports, it is linked to separatist or rebel ideologies. Pakistan has already been struggling with the activities of many armed organizations, such as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Baloch Liberation Army, Jaish al-Adl, Nasr Movement, Pada Rasul Allah Group and others. Experts believe that the emergence of PFF may be part of that broader instability.
How is PFF dangerous for Pakistan?
The fear of danger regarding PFF increases due to these reasons. Its strategy is to work in small but organized cells. It may get the benefit of local discontent against Pakistan government and army. PFF can use regional issues as a weapon against the government.
The People’s Fighters Front (PFF) is a new militia/militant alliance that was formed in December 2025 by a coalition of several Baloch militias, notably Jaysh al-Adl, Nasr Movement, Pada Baloch Movement and Muhammad Rasul Allah Group. This group is considered active in Sistan-Baluchistan (Iran) and surrounding areas. The record of confirmed and credible events available is not currently very extensive, but claims or operations have been linked to this group or its predecessor components.
What high-impact strategy works?
This is because the leadership and command chain of PFF is not yet clear. Works on low-intensity but high-impact strategy. Security agencies’ investigation has indicated that PFF may have possible links with other organizations. If PFF is a ‘front’ of any big banned organization, then it can become a long-term challenge to Pakistan’s security.
IRGC took responsibility for the attack
IRGC On December 11, 2025, the PFF claimed to have attacked a convoy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This attack took place near Lar area of Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchistan province (Iran). The group said that at least four IRGC soldiers were killed and several were injured in their attack. The attack was carried out as retaliation against local security forces, with the group taking credit for it. This is the first and most obvious claim of responsibility by the PFF as recorded in media and analytical reports.
How does PFF’s network work?
According to security analysts, the network of such organizations usually works at three levels. As a local module. That means recruitment and ground activities. Can use secret financial networks, social media and digital platforms to achieve his goals. Spreading ideology and connecting youth through digital platforms is being considered as its new strategy.
Why is extremism increasing in Pakistan?
Pakistan has been facing internal security challenges for a long time. Especially border instability, separatist movements, activism of fundamentalist organizations and others. Under these circumstances, the emergence of groups like PFF can further complicate the situation.
New name, old challenge?
The name of Peoples Fighters Front (PFF) may be new, but the challenge of extremism is not new for Pakistan. In the times to come, its activities and government actions will decide how effective or dangerous this organization proves to be.
