Uttar Pradesh: A very sad and shocking incident in Kanpur district of UP has shocked the entire area. A retired soldier shot dead his wife and minor son in his house. After this, he himself went to the railway track and committed suicide in front of a goods train. This incident happened on Monday morning, which has created an atmosphere of fear and regret among the local people.

This sensational case is of Bakhriya village (Tulsiapur area) under Sen West Para police station area. Police received information at around 7.30 in the morning that a person had committed suicide by coming in front of a goods train on the DFCC railway track near Kathogar-Imlipur railway underpass.
The police reached the spot and identified the deceased by looking at his Aadhar card and the motorcycle number. The deceased turned out to be Chetram Paswan (51 years old), son of Ayodhya Prasad, native of village Bakheria Ghatampur, Tulsiapur. He had served in the Indian Army and was now retired.
Police got a big shock after reaching home
When the police reached the deceased’s house to give information, an even bigger incident occurred there. The bodies of 40-year-old woman Sunita Verma and 16-year-old Kishore Deep were found lying inside the house. Both were shot. On inquiring nearby, it was found that the woman was the wife of the deceased and the teenager was his son. A licensed double barrel gun was also found lying on the spot.
In the preliminary investigation, the police found that Chetram first murdered his wife and son in the house, then locked the main gate of the house from outside and reached the railway track on bike, about two-three kilometers away. There he committed suicide by lying in front of a goods train.
Police investigation and further action
The police have taken possession of all three bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has collected necessary evidence from the spot. Top officials are deeply investigating the reasons behind this painful incident.
At present, suspicion is being raised regarding a family dispute or some other reason, but no clear reason has come to light yet. There is anger and sadness among the people due to this incident in the area. Many people are saying that it is beyond comprehension why a former soldier, who had served the country, took such a step.
