Pakistani player Shadab Khan is facing massive trolling after a clip of him resurfaced following a 61-run T20 World Cup defeat against India. The viral video shows Khan expressing immense confidence about Pakistan’s qualification for the finals.
The video was taken while a fan was interacting with the cricketer in Sri Lanka. He asked, “So, you are here till the semi-finals?” Shadab, without hesitation, replied, “Till the final.”
The exact timing of the video is not clear; however, it took social media storm after Pakistan’s “tame surrender” at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.
Team India posted a total of 176, but the Men in Green bundled out for a mere 114 runs. Shadab was also unable to leave his mark on the match, conceding 17 runs in a single over.
Fans were quick to point out the quote and used it against the spinner. One fan jokingly said, “Don’t worry, he’s talking about the PSL final.”
Another critic predicted that the next match against Namibia might be the “final game” for Pakistan in the tournament.
The loss placed Pakistan at third spot in Group A, leaving their qualification for the Super 8s at risk.
