‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ is being organized from 16 to 20 February at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The conference is attended by government policy-makers, AI experts from industry, academics, technology innovators and civil society representatives from across the world.
The Summit is the first global AI conference to be held in the Global South, which aims to deliberate on the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence and advance the principle of ‘AI for Humanity’ in line with the national vision of “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay”.
Meanwhile, in an interview, Prime Minister Modi spoke in detail on the impact of AI on the IT sector and the government’s strategy. He said, “India’s IT sector has been the backbone of our services exports and a key driver of economic growth. AI presents both a tremendous opportunity and challenge for the sector. AI Market estimates suggest that India’s IT sector could reach $400 billion by 2030, driven by new waves of AI-enabled outsourcing and domain-specific automation.”
The summit is witnessing participation from more than 110 countries, 30 international organizations and about 20 heads of state/government. Apart from this, about 45 ministers are also attending the conference.
The conference is part of an evolving international process towards strengthening global cooperation on the governance, security and social impact of AI. Based on the three principles of ‘People, Planet and Progress’, the summit is being organized with the aim of promoting human-centric AI, environmentally sustainable progress and inclusive economic and technological growth.
