Salim Khan Stable After Minor Brain Haemorrhage
Veteran screenwriter and lyricist Salim Khan, father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital after suffering a minor brain haemorrhage and high blood pressure.
Doctors confirmed that he underwent a small procedure and is currently stable under close medical supervision.
Dr Jalil Parkar from Lilavati Hospital stated that Khan was placed on a ventilator as a precautionary measure, not because his condition was critical. “He is fine. He is stable. He has been shifted to the ICU. By tomorrow, he will be off the ventilator,” Dr Parkar told reporters.
Salim Khan, aged 90, was rushed to the hospital on February 17 by the family physician. He underwent Digital Subtraction Angiography and continues to be monitored closely. Doctors emphasised that his age requires careful observation, but his recovery is progressing well.
Family members, including Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Agnihotri, Arpita Khan, and Helen, have been visiting him regularly. Grandchildren Arhaan, Nirvaan, and Alizeh Agnihotri also came to the hospital, reflecting the family’s concern.
Industry colleagues such as Sanjay Dutt and Javed Akhtar visited the hospital to check on Khan’s condition. Fans and film fraternity members have been sending prayers and wishes for his speedy recovery.
Hospital authorities confirmed that an official bulletin will be released with the family’s consent to provide further updates.
