Banda railway track death case: Body of unidentified youth found, investigation underway

A youth’s mutilated body was found on a railway track in Banda district. According to the preliminary information, it is estimated that the death of the concerned youth was due to falling under the train and his identity has not been confirmed yet.

Local citizens informed the police after seeing the body lying near the railway tracks. Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) rushed to the spot on receiving information. Looking at the condition of the body, it was initially predicted that it was hit by a speeding train.

The police took possession of the body and completed the panchnama process and sent it to the district hospital for post-mortem. Inquiries were made by citizens of the area; But no one could identify the deceased. The deceased youth is said to be between 25 and 30 years of age.

According to police officials, records of missing persons registered in nearby police stations are being checked for identification. Efforts are being made to identify the dead body in the surrounding area by taking a photo. Information is also being disseminated through social media and police networks.

It is not yet clear whether this incident is a suicide or an accident. Police are investigating from all angles. The footage of CCTV cameras in the railway track area is also being examined.

Local residents said that accidents occur due to negligence while crossing railway tracks in this area. The police have appealed to exercise caution while crossing the railway line and use the designated route.
