Domestic stock market rises for the third consecutive day, Sensex rises 283 points, Nifty crosses 25800

Mumbai18 February. Amid strong global trends, the domestic stock market closed with gains for the third consecutive session on Wednesday due to buying in shares of banks, metal and FMCG companies. Interestingly, for the third consecutive trading session the market witnessed a decline in the first hour. But as the day progressed, both the benchmark indices moved into the green. In the last hour, amid widespread buying, BSE Sensex rose by 283 points while NSE Nifty gained 94 points and crossed the level of 25,800.

Sensex 83,734.25 closed on points

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)’s benchmark index Sensex based on 30 shares closed at 83,734.25 points, up 283.29 points or 0.34 per cent. At one time during trading it had reached a high of 83,770.05 points. The index also saw the day’s low at 83,163.62 points. Among Sensex related companies, shares of 18 closed in the green while 12 registered a decline.

At the same time, Nifty, a sensitive index based on 50 shares of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), closed at 25,819.35 points, increasing by 93.95 points or 0.37 percent. Among Nifty related companies, stocks of 32 were positive and 16 were weak.

Shares of Tata Steel rose the most by 2.90 percent.

Among Sensex group companies, shares of Tata Steel rose the most by 2.90 percent. Shares of ITC, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever and State Bank of India also gained majorly. On the other hand, shares of Infosys, HCL Tech, Tata Consultancy Services, Adani Ports, Asian Paints, Maruti Suzuki India and HDFC Bank declined.

FII has 995.21 Net purchase of shares worth crores of rupees

According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) made a net purchase of shares worth Rs 995.21 crore on Tuesday, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 187.04 crore. On the other hand, global oil standard Brent crude rose by 0.33 percent to reach $ 67.64 per barrel.
