Gold Silver Rate Today: Is there going to be a big fall in gold and silver, what are the experts saying, check the latest rate?

Gold Silver Rate Today: Gold and silver prices fell again on February 18, 2026. The prices fell as soon as the international market opened. Till about 20 days ago, the prices of gold and silver were continuously increasing, but now they are falling rapidly. Some time ago, gold had reached Rs 1,80,000 per 10 grams and silver had reached Rs 4,20,000 per kg. However, now gold has fallen to around Rs 1,51,000 and silver to Rs 2,30,000 per kg. Experts believe that further decline may occur.

Aksh Kamboj, Vice President of India Bullion and Jewelers Association, says that investors have made huge sales to earn profits. This is why prices have fallen. However, if global uncertainty persists, prices may rise again.

What are today’s latest rates?

Today on COMEX, gold fell to around $4,906 per ounce and silver fell to $72.58 per ounce. In India, on MCX, gold closed at Rs 1,51,800 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,30,204 per kg.

The craze for gold and silver has also increased among the youth. In the last one and a half year, the prices of gold and silver have more than doubled. At that time, Gen Z and Millennials also started investing heavily in the hope of good profits. But now, after the decline, people have calmed down a bit. Most buyers are waiting for prices to fall further before making purchases.

Will prices fall further?

Gold and silver have fallen significantly from their record high. Experts say that if profit-booking continues, prices may soften further. However, if global conditions worsen, gold may once again become a safe investment, and prices may also increase.

Buyers are now purchasing cautiously. Jewelery industry officials say that after the price fall, the number of customers has increased, but people are not buying that much. Most people are now buying jewelery only for weddings or important occasions. Earlier there was demand for heavy jewellery, but now people are choosing light weight jewellery. Customers expect prices to fall further in the coming days, so they are choosing to wait.
