Soon after former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim confirmed his second marriage to influencer Nyla Raja, his former spouse Sannia Ashfaq issued a statement on social media, accusing him of walking away from her and their three children, including an infant. In her post, she labelled Raja a “homewrecker” and described Imad as a “cheater.”
Sannia took to social media to upload a clip of Imad and Nyla celebrating with candles following their wedding. In her accompanying message, she asserted that the development validated concerns she had raised earlier. “Now everyone has seen the proof. This homewrecker never once thought about my kids. The cheater has finally been exposed, and I want justice for my children and for everything we’ve been put through,” she wrote.
Imad, the former Pakistan all-rounder, issued a short statement addressing his second marriage. He termed his relationship with Sannia Ashfaq as “one of the most challenging phases” of his life and reiterated that his children from the previous marriage remain important to him.
“I went through one of the hardest chapters of my life after a marriage that did not work. Even so, that chapter gave me the greatest blessings of my life — my children. I love them beyond words, and that love will never change. I stayed longer than I should have, holding on to hope and trying to protect what mattered most to me. In doing so, I made decisions I regret,” Imad wrote.
Imad defended Nyla, admitting that the influencer had been unfairly targeted following news of their union. “My hesitation and silence created a situation where someone innocent was wrongly judged and criticised unfairly. I accept complete responsibility for that and deeply regret it.”
The former all-rounder married Sannia in 2019, with the two parting ways in December. On the field, he represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs and 75 T20Is.
