South Africa vs UAE: South Africa defeated UAE by 6 wickets in T-20 World Cup 2026, made it to the Super 8 of the group stage.

New Delhi: After the excellent bowling of Corbin Bosch (three wickets), thanks to the explosive batting of Dewald Brewis (36), Ryan Rickleton (30) and captain Aidan Markram (28), South Africa defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by six wickets with 40 balls remaining in the 34th match of the T-20 World Cup on Wednesday. With this victory, South Africa has secured a place in the Super Eight without losing a single match in the tournament. Corbin Bosch received the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

Chasing the target of 123 runs, South Africa’s opening pair of captain Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock added 32 runs for the first wicket. Hyder Ali ended this partnership by bowling Aiden Markram on the last ball of the third over. Markram scored 28 runs in 11 balls, hitting five fours and one six. In the sixth over, Muhammad Jawadullah made Quinton de Kock (14) his victim. After this, Ryan Rickleton and Dewald Brewis made a partnership of 49 runs for the third wicket to ensure South Africa’s victory.

In the 11th over, Mohammad Farooq gave UAE its third success by dismissing Ryan Rickleton. Rickleton played an innings of 30 runs in 16 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. In the very next over, South Africa’s fourth wicket fell in the form of Dewald Brevis. Dewald Brevis played an inning of 36 runs in 25 balls, hitting three sixes and one four. South Africa scored 123 runs for four wickets in 13.2 overs and won the match by six wickets. For UAE, Haider Ali, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Farooq dismissed one batsman each.

Earlier today, due to the brilliant batting of Aalish Sharafu (45) and captain Muhammad Wasim (22), United Arab Emirates (UAE), batting first in the rain-affected match, scored 122 runs for six wickets in 20 overs against South Africa.

South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first. Aalishaan Sharafu played an innings of 45 runs in 38 balls, hitting five fours and a six. Captain Muhammad Wasim scored 22 runs in 12 balls with four fours. Aryansh Sharma (13) and Muhammad Irfan (11) were out after scoring runs. Four UAE batsmen could not reach double figures against the South African bowling attack. Corbin Bosch took three wickets for South Africa. Anrich Nortje got two wickets. George Linde dismissed one batsman.
