Users complained that neither their homepages were loading nor search results were visible. Creators using YouTube Studio also faced problems in uploading their videos and checking analytics. This largest center of entertainment and education in the world remained stalled for about 2 hours. What did Google give the reason for? YouTube’s parent company Google has blamed ‘Backend Configuration Error’ for this outage. According to the company’s engineers: Server overload: Due to lack of coordination between heavy traffic and internal system updates, the main server stopped responding. Software bug: A small bug in the system had blocked the data processing unit, due to which the video stream stopped. Questions being raised about security. Due to such sudden closure of YouTube, concerns were also raised about data security and privacy.
