Nissan Gravite vs Renault Triber: Differences & Similarities

Nissan has launched the Gravite MPV in India with an introductory starting price of Rs 5.65 lakh, ex-showroom. The Gravite is Nissan’s version of the Triber. Many of its design cues and features resemble those of the Renault MPV. This article will explain what the Gravite does differently and what remains the same.

Design

On the design front, there is enough to differentiate the Gravite from its Renault counterpart. Nissan has tried its best to inject its signature design DNA into the vehicle. The Gravite’s front fascia looks different from that of the Triber. It gets a larger front grille with trapezoidal inserts, The LED DRLs have a segmented design. The headlamps look almost the same on both vehicles.

There’s a clear distinction in the bumper design. Both the front and rear bumpers of the Gravite feature bold, C-shaped accents. This Nissan says, is inspired from its range of global SUVs. On the launch edition, limited to just 1001 units, touches of Orange can be seen on the bumpers.

The silhouette remains the same on both MPVs. The Gravite, however, has a different design for its flex wheels. Like the Triber, the Gravite also comes with stylish hub caps, instead of alloy wheels. At the rear, the new Gravite gets a redesigned, chunky bumper with C-shaped accents. The design of the tailgate and tail lamps remain the same that those of the Triber. GRAVITE is spelled out on both the bonnet and the tailgate. There is also a sleek Silver strip on the applique connecting the tail lamps, which is absent on the Triber.

Interior And Features

The Triber had received a facelift in July last year. It brought significant revisions to the interior design. The Gravite, however, uses a slightly redesigned version of the old Triber’s dashboard.

You’ll see clear differences in the placement and design of AC vents on the dash and in some other areas. On the Gravite, the central air vents sit above the infotainment screen. On the Triber, they are positioned below the touchscreen. Symbolising fine Japanese craftsmanship, Nissan has given the Gravite several premium trims and touches inside.

The feature list consists of a digital instrument panel, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual AC, cruise control, push-button start, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, reverse camera, wireless charger, cooled glove box and more. The Launch edition even offers dual dash cameras and premium JBL audio.
