Pakistan’s journey to the second round was secured through a dominant performance against Namibia, with opener Sahibzada Farhan scoring an unbeaten 100 off 58 deliveries – also the third century of the ongoing T20 World Cup after Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka and Yuvraj Samra of Canada.

Pakistan’s bowling attack, led by mystery spinner Usman Tariq (4/16) and Shadab Khan (3/19), dismantled Namibia for just 97 runs, sealing the 102-run victory . This win followed earlier successes against the USA and Netherlands, with the sole blemish being a 61-run defeat to arch-rivals India on February 15 .

Qualification scenarios for the semifinals

In the Super 8 stage, each team plays three matches – one against every other side in their group. No points are carried forward from the group stage, meaning every match starts afresh . The top two teams from Group 2 will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for March 4 and 5 .

If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals, their match will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on March 4.
