Top losers among Nifty 50 stocks in midday trades today, Feb 19: Trent falls 2.7%, M&M down 2.3%, Adani Enterprises drops 2.0%
Indian benchmark indices traded lower in midday deals on February 19, with broad-based weakness dragging frontline stocks. At 12 PM (IST), the Nifty 50 stood at 25,640.55, down 178.80 points or 0.69%, while the Sensex declined 606.28 points or 0.72% to 83,127.97. The Bank Nifty slipped 0.62% to 61,170.70, and the Midcap Nifty fell 1.08% to 13,581.20.
Among the Nifty 50 constituents, several heavyweights featured on the list of top losers in midday trade.
Leading the decline was Trentwhich was trading at ₹4,072.7, down 2.7% at the time of writing. The stock remained under pressure along with broader weakness in select consumption names.
Mahindra & Mahindra slipped 2.3% to ₹3,450.6, emerging as one of the notable laggards from the auto pack.
Shares of Adani Enterprises declined 2.0% to ₹2,168.0 in midday trade, placing the stock among the key drags on the index.
UltraTech Cement fell 1.7% to ₹12,825.0, contributing to the weakness seen in select cement counters.
In the aviation space, InterGlobe Aviation traded 1.6% lower at ₹4,900.0.
Among public sector names, Power Grid Corporation of India was down 1.6% at ₹295.8, while Bharat Electronics slipped 1.6% to ₹440.7.
Eternal traded at ₹273.5, down 1.4% during the session.
Metal major JSW Steel was also among the losers, declining 1.4% to ₹1,234.2.
Overall, the midday session reflected sustained selling pressure across sectors, with heavyweight stocks contributing to the decline in benchmark indices.
