Professor Neha Singh fired from job? Now Galgotias University replied

Galgotias University has come into limelight after the AI ​​Summit. There is a discussion going on on social media that Neha Singh has been expelled from the college. After the controversy the registrar has given clarification. Considering it a mistake, the university has started an investigation. Galgotias University has accepted its ‘mistake’ on the controversy surrounding the robotic dog at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. University Registrar Nitin Kumar Gaur said that the institute has given its clarification in this matter and expressed regret over the incident. This was a mistake and we regret it. We never want the image of the university or the country to be tarnished.

Action will be taken after investigation

Registrar Nitin Kumar Gaur clarified that Professor Neha Singh has not been suspended. He said, ‘He is not suspended. The process will continue until the investigation is completed. He also said that the entire university should not be judged on the basis of one person’s mistake. The university has started investigation. Nitin Kumar Gaur said that it will be seen why such a mistake happened and strict steps will be taken for it. He said that the institute stands with the technological progress and innovation of the country and wants to see India move forward.

Question on in-house innovation

After the controversy, the university stall in Bharat Mandapam was asked to vacate. The robotic dog, which the university had described as an ‘in-house innovation’ at its booth during the summit, was later identified as ‘Unitri Go 2’, a commercial robot manufactured by Chinese company Unitri. This robot is available in the market for around Rs 2 to 3 lakh. When Professor Neha Singh demonstrated the robotic dog ‘Orion’ during a media interaction. He claimed that it was developed by the University’s Center of Excellence.

He also said that the university has invested more than Rs 350 crore in Artificial Intelligence and has set up a Data Science and AI block on the campus. Describing the robot as ‘naughty’, he had said that it can do small tasks like surveillance and monitoring. Attention was drawn to the similarity between ‘Orion’ and ‘Unitri Go 2’, after which the controversy deepened. According to sources, after this the university was asked to vacate the exhibition area and the electricity of the pavilion was also cut off.
