Bijapur encounter: soldiers killed 5 Naxalites
Bijapur. Security forces have achieved great success in Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Five Maoists have been killed in a fierce encounter between security forces and Naxalites on Thursday. This success was achieved at a time when the soldiers were carrying out anti-Maoist search operations and area control operations in the forest area.
According to preliminary information, the security forces were on patrol in Karegutta area of Bijapur when the Naxalites started firing indiscriminately on them. The soldiers immediately took charge and retaliated. 5 Naxalites were killed in this encounter. At present, the slain Naxalites are being identified and details of the arms and ammunition recovered from the spot are yet to come. Senior officials have been informed about the incident and the search operation is still going on in the entire area.

Naxalites’ back broken in 4 days
In this special operation that has been going on for the last four days in Bijapur, the soldiers have caused huge damage to the Naxalite network. Security forces have so far completely destroyed 214 Naxalite hideouts and bunkers. 450 IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) have been recovered, which were planted for major attacks. A huge quantity of detonators including 818 BGL shells and 899 bundles of codex have been seized.
