Election affidavit: HC notice to 42 MLAs including Bihar Assembly Speaker

Patna. A big legal development has come to light in the politics of Bihar. Patna High Court has issued notice to 42 MLAs of party and opposition. Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar is also included in these.

The court has sought answers on the allegations of alleged wrong information and irregularities in the election affidavit. Considering the matter as serious, the court has directed to file clarification within the stipulated time. This decision has intensified the turmoil in the politics of the state.

Case opened due to petition of losing candidates
According to the information, the petition was filed by the candidates who lost the elections in the respective assembly constituencies. The petitioners allege that the winning candidates hid facts in the affidavits during nomination.

In some cases, irregularities in the voting process have also been alleged. On the basis of these allegations, election petitions were filed in the High Court. After the preliminary hearing, the court issued notice to all the MLAs. Now further hearing will be held on the basis of the reply and documents filed in the court.

Notice was sent to which leaders?
Energy Minister Vijendra Yadav’s name is also included among those who received the notice. Former minister Jeevesh Mishra and MLA Chetan Anand will also have to answer. The name of Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Amarendra Prasad from Goh is also in the list.
