According to a Tribune report, Apple is planning to manufacture its iPhones in Pakistan after the government of Pakistan agreed to provide incentives under the proposed Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Framework. Apart from this, Apple has also agreed to refurbish and re-export iPhones in Pakistan under the new framework. The government expects to earn 100 million from re-exports of refurbished iPhones in the first year.

Performance incentive will be 8 percent
Apple management has asked for discounted land, 8% performance incentives and plans to repair two- to three-year-old iPhones. According to The Express Tribune, Chief Executive Officer of Engineering Development Board (EDB) Hamad Ali Mansoor said in an interview that they have included these three conditions in the new proposed mobile and electronics manufacturing framework, which has been approved by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Entry in Pakistan as in India
Apple also made a similar entry in Indonesia, Malaysia and India with the same model. The company started by repairing iPhones that were two to three years old. Its purpose was to train the local manpower. After that the production of iPhone started. The government will increase the performance incentive from 6% to 8% to attract Apple and other global manufacturers.

If Apple enters Pakistan, it is expected that the iPhone will be cheaper in Pakistan. Currently, heavy import price is charged on iPhone in Pakistan. Due to this reason, the price of iPhone is much higher there. This increased cost would be reduced if the iPhone was made locally. Hence, the price of the iPhone can be significantly reduced.
