Indian opener Ishan Kishan has got the benefit of his excellent performance in the ICC T20 World Cup in the latest ICC batting rankings. He has made a place in the top 10 list of T20 international batsmen by playing a match-winning inning of 77 runs in 40 balls. Kishan has now reached eighth position with 732 rating points.
Kishan leaves behind Team Seifert and Travis Head
Kishan left behind Tim Seifert of New Zealand and Travis Head of Australia. He has become the fourth Indian batsman to make it to this list. Kishan’s performance in recent matches has been consistently impressive. He played important innings of 61 runs against Namibia and 77 runs against Pakistan, due to which his rating increased significantly. On the other hand, Indian batsman Abhishek Sharma still remains at the top position with 891 points. Even though he could not open his account in some matches in the tournament, his overall rating remains strong.
Phil Salt of England is in second place. However, his performance in this tournament was not as expected and he is 83 points behind Abhishek. Among other Indian batsmen, Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav also maintain their place in the top 10. Whereas Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has slipped to fifth place in the rankings after being out for zero against India. Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka has jumped to third place after scoring a brilliant century against Australia.
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has again regained the number one position in the ranking of all-rounders. India’s Hardik Pandya remains at the third position, while Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza is at the second position and just six points behind the top position.
Brad Evans did a long jump
In the bowling rankings, Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans performed brilliantly and jumped 10 places to reach fifth position. India’s Varun Chakraborty remains at the top. Apart from this, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh are at 14th, 15th and 16th position respectively. Looking at the upcoming matches of India, these players will have a good opportunity to further improve their ranking.
