T20WC 2026 AFG vs CAN Playing 11: Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan will square off against Dilpreet Bajwa-led Canada in the 39th match of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on February 19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Afghanistan had a heartbreaking campaign in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Despite putting up a fight, Afghanistan lost the games against South Africa and New Zealand.
Despite their victory against the UAE, they have been knocked out of the tournament. On the other hand, Canada lost all three games in the group and will be aiming for a win to make a positive impact.
Canada won the toss and opted bowl. Speaking at the toss, Dilpreet Bajwa said, “We will bowl first. The wicket didn’t change much in the last game, and also because of the dew factor. We have to fight stronger with the ball and not concede too many loose balls.”

Meanwhile, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan said, “Not the kind of end we wanted in this competition, and I feel we have those skills, but just that game against South Africa put us down. We need to make the nation proud and want to finish off well.
