Ruckus within BJP over insult to Batuks! When Deputy CM honored him, Akhilesh taunted him.

The politics of Uttar Pradesh has heated up over the insult to Batuks in Prayagraj and the controversy related to Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda. Now differences of opinion are coming to the fore within the Bharatiya Janata Party on this issue. On one hand, Yogi Adityanath justified the action of Prayagraj administration, while on the other hand, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has described the incident of holding the crest of Batukas as a “great sin”.

Akhilesh Yadav taunted

Taking a jibe at the statement of Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav wrote on social media platform

“They reject the former Chief Minister, do not accept the present Chief Minister, continue to sing their praises despite being the Deputy, run away from the responsibilities of the ministry, it seems they know that they are going to leave!”

This statement of Akhilesh is being seen as a taunt on the internal differences of BJP.

Difference between the statements of CM and Deputy CM

During the assembly session, CM Yogi Adityanath had said that not every person can be a Shankaracharya and no one is above the law. He described the administration’s action as under the rules.

On the contrary, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said that holding the crest of Batukas is an insult to religious faith and those doing so will be considered a sin. After his statement the discussion intensified in political circles.

BJP MLA accused the officials

BJP MLA from Loni Nand Kishore Gurjar also targeted the administrative officials and said that the officials are responsible for the incident that happened with Shankaracharya and Batukas. He alleged that some officers were working on the agenda of the opposition and action should be taken against them.

Honored 101 Batukas

On February 19, 101 Batuks reached the official residence of Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. During this, Pathak welcomed the Batukas with garlands of flowers, applied tilak and took blessings while respecting their crest.

What happened on Mauni Amavasya?

During the Magh Mela in Prayagraj on the day of Mauni Amavasya, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand was going for bath with his disciples. The administration stopped him from leaving in the palanquin, due to which a dispute broke out.
During this, there was a scuffle between the police and the disciples. Some videos of the incident also surfaced, in which policemen were seen fighting with batuks.

This controversy has now become a religious and political issue and questions are constantly being raised on the government regarding it.
