Zoo is becoming smart in Delhi, QR code installed outside the enclosure will give information about animals

Visitors to the zoo will now be able to instantly read all the information about wildlife from the QR code sign board outside the wildlife enclosure. Many sign boards are being installed for the first time along with replacement of new sign boards for renovation and visitor convenience. The work of installing more than 1000 sign boards has started.

QR code will be attached with the name

Around 1300 wild animals of 96 species are living in 72 enclosures of 20 beats. The new sign boards will have QR codes with information about the name of that animal. By scanning the code from mobile, all the information about the animals will be available. A zoo official said that this will be successful in increasing people’s interest towards wildlife and environment.

New boards will be installed in the zoo

Most of the sign boards of the zoo were very old. It was not possible to read properly in many boards. About 100 warning sign boards giving information about dangerous animals, staying away from the enclosure railing etc., and more than 200 sign boards with the names of animals confined in enclosures will be installed.

Board at rickshaw stop also

New sign boards will also be installed at the battery rickshaw stop. His condition is not very good right now. There are no sign boards at many places. But visitors will no longer have to wander here and there to get a battery rickshaw. Boards are also being installed giving information about various routes of the zoo. Information about which animal’s enclosure is located on which route will also be given through sign boards. This will make it easier for people visiting the zoo to decide their route. They will no longer have to wander far to find the animals of their choice.

From elephant to tiger, you can adopt it even for a day

The zoo is going to make major reforms in the ‘Wildlife Adoption’ scheme to increase its revenue. Now you can adopt any wildlife even for a day. Adoption can also be done for quarterly and half yearly periods. This scheme has been operational since March. Under this, the cost of feeding and maintenance of wildlife is included. Under the Wildlife Adoption Scheme, which started in 2022, wildlife could be adopted for a period of one year and two years.

Time is being changed to increase income

The plan was not successful. Only a few big companies had adopted barely half a dozen wild animals. The African Shankar elephant was also adopted, which died last year. Zoo Director Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that the time period of Wildlife Adoption Scheme is being changed to increase the income.
