Rajpal Yadav said this after coming out of jail

Let us tell you that after coming out of jail, Rajpal Yadav while talking to the media said – It has been 30 years since I have been working in Bollywood. The people of the country were with us, that is why I have been able to do so many films. The story started in 2012-13. By 2026 I will have done 250 films. Children, elders and youth associated with Indian cinema are pieces of my heart. Everyone stay with me. The people of the country remained with me. Whatever order I received from the court regarding this matter, I followed it and have been present on their call. I will follow his orders in future too. Rajpal Yadav thanked the court and said that they listened to me.

What is the whole matter?

Actor Rajpal Yadav is accused of borrowing Rs 5 crore from Delhi’s Murali Projects Private Limited for his directorial debut film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’ in the year 2012. However, after the film flopped at the box office, Rajpal was unable to return the money to the organization, leading to a court case. In April 2018, a magisterial court convicted him and his wife Radha under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. After seven checks given to the complainant bounced, the actor was sentenced to six months of simple jail.

In early 2019, a sessions court upheld the sentence. Rajpal Yadav finally appealed in the High Court. In June 2024, the court granted him some relief by suspending his sentence and directing him to take “honest and genuine steps” to repay the outstanding amount, which had increased to around Rs 9 crore. However, on February 2, the High Court directed Rajpal to surrender, noting that the actor had repeatedly broken his promises given to the court to return the amount to the complainant.
