Access to AI-based solutions in education will be increased
Mumbai: Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) has launched Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India’s education sector.AI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BharatGen Technology Foundation to strengthen and expand its use. The objective of this strategic collaboration is to develop and implement indigenous, multilingual AI solutions that will improve the quality of education and facilitate access to quality education across the country.
The agreement was signed in the presence of KEF CEO Ganesh Raja, COO (Education) Jayashree Ramesh and Director (Education) Kavita Sanghvi. CEO Rishi Bahl, Principal Investigator Ganesh Ramakrishnan, VP (Operations) Amol Geete and Senior Scientist Venkatapathy were present from BharatGen Technology Foundation.
Under this collaboration, KEF and BharatGen will formulate a strategic plan for the following objectives:
Increasing access to AI-based solutions in education
Developing indigenous AI models compatible with KEF’s educational programs
KEF-led implementation to scale up AI solutions in classrooms
Jio will provide cheap AI services for all like mobile data, Mukesh Ambani’s plan…
The scope of this partnership includes the following
AI-enabled assessment and feedback system for continuous and adaptive learning
Multilingual content delivery and support of local languages, making education more inclusive and accessible
Highly personalized learning and teacher support tools to enhance classroom performance
Data-driven insights to strengthen decision-making and improve learning outcomes
KEF CEO Ganesh Raja said, “This partnership is a significant step towards building an India-centric, scalable AI learning ecosystem that will empower teachers, make student learning more effective and drive positive change across the education system.”

For the past sixteen years we have been working with the mission of imparting education and basic skills to economically disadvantaged children and youth, which empowers them for a bright future. Swadeshi projects focusing on quality education for the low income group have been implemented with an ‘inch wide, mile deep’ approach.

KEF’s approach is based on three key pillars
a) Comprehensive interventions for children and teachers in schools
b) Balance Scholarship for Higher Education
c) Vocational education and skill training for employment
Major initiatives being implemented by KEF in Maharashtra and to some extent in Gujarat are strengthening school leadership, teacher capacity development, creating digital learning ecosystems, developing communicative English skills among secondary students, imparting Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills to teachers and helping districts set up model schools.
In 2021, KEF launched the Kotak Kanya Scholarship, which provides financial and academic assistance to meritorious girls across the country for higher education. The Kotak Junior Scholarship assists meritorious students in the Mumbai metropolitan area for their Class 11th and 12th education. KEF’s Unnati Project provides training in IT skills, English communication skills, life skills and personality development to unemployed youth from economically weaker sections and provides employment opportunities to eligible candidates.
KEF is now moving to the next phase and aims to expand youth empowerment through education and livelihood. The role of the organization is evolving beyond the ‘one school’ framework towards education transformation at the district and state levels. Kotak Education Foundation is the principal implementer of Kotak Mahindra Group’s CSR initiatives in the education sector. Kotak Karma is the identity of Kotak Mahindra Group’s CSR initiatives.
