This is Zimbabwe’s fifth win against a full members team in T20 World Cup history. Zimbabwe has defeated Australia twice in the T20 World Cup. Zimbabwe made the second most successful run chase in Colombo

Zimbabwe chased 178 runs against Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This is the second most successful run chase at Premdas Stadium. The record of most successful run chase on this ground is in the name of Bangladesh. Bangladesh chased the score of 215 runs in the Nidahas Trophy in 2018. This is Zimbabwe’s second most successful run chase in T20 World Cup history. Apart from this, this is the second most successful run chase against Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup history. Earlier in the T20 World Cup 2014, England had chased the score of 190 runs against Sri Lanka.

Brian Bennett did wonders for Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe’s star opener Brian Bennett has also made a big record in his name. Brian Bennett has not been out in a single match of the group stage. He scored unbeaten 48 runs against Oman. While scored 64 unbeaten runs against Australia and 63 unbeaten runs against Sri Lanka. With this, Brian Bennett has equaled Sean Williams in terms of scoring the most FIFFI Plus for Zimbabwe in T20 Internationals. Captain Sikandar Raza is at number one with FIFI Plus score 17 times.
