Recipe to make delicious Guar Phali

First Recipe: Dried Guar Pods

To make this dish, you need guar pod, salt, turmeric, cumin, finely chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, mango powder and fresh green coriander. First of all, wash the guar pods thoroughly and cut them into small pieces. Then, add some salt and boil them lightly. Make sure the pods are not completely soft, but about 70% cooked so that their crispiness is maintained.

Now heat some oil in a pan. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida. Then add finely chopped onion and fry until it turns golden. When the onion is cooked, add ginger-garlic paste to it and add boiled guar pods and cook well for 2-3 minutes. When the masala is roasted, add about three tablespoons of roasted gram flour and mix well.


Now add turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder. You can also add mango powder to enhance the taste. Cook it on low flame until the gram flour coats the guar pods well. Finally add green coriander and serve hot.

Second Recipe: Spicy Guar Phali with Onion-Garlic and Curd

This recipe requires onion, gram flour and curd. First of all, wash the guar pods thoroughly. Then, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and red chillies to the hot oil in the pan. After this, add lengthwise chopped onion and cook well.

Now add chopped guar pods and let them cook in steam on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes. When the pods become soft, prepare a batter by mixing curd, some gram flour and spices in a bowl and pour it into the pan. When the gram flour is well coated with the guar pod, heat oil in another pan and put the wrapped guar pod in it and fry it well.
