Dane Menzies vs Mark McMorris: Dawn of new era or veteran glory in 2026 Olympic slopestyle

Livigno Snow Park at the 2026 Winter Olympics is all set to stage a much-anticipated slopestyle drama on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Dane Menzies, a 20-year-old New Zealander, made it to the qualifying round after scoring 86.06 and managed to lead the pack into the finals.

Even though it was quite a challenging task for the first-time Olympian to take the top spot, especially after a last-minute change in schedule due to the snow. He noted, “I was like, ‘Here we go’. I guess we’ve got to get this done. I was stressed but also stoked to just get it over with.”

Menzies was given tough competition by Norway’s Marcus Kleveland, who scored 81.86 and stood in second position.

The final stage features 12 riders who are competing for the gold. Fans are wondering whether three-time bronze medalist McMorris will maintain his legacy or if first-timer Menzies will usher in the dawn of new era.
