Bhupen Borah On Rahul Gandhi: ‘My insult had no importance for Rahul Gandhi’, former Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah expressed his pain.

Guwahati. Former Assam Congress President Bhupen Bora has resigned from the party. Bhupen Bora had announced to leave Congress on 16 February. After which the Congress high command gave the responsibility of convincing him to many leaders of Assam. However, Bhupen Bora did not agree to withdraw his resignation. Now Bhupen Bora has given a big statement on the conversation he had with the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the biggest leader of the Congress, Rahul Gandhi. Expressing his pain, Bhupen Bora said that after resigning, he spoke to Rahul Gandhi on phone. Bora said that when he told Rahul Gandhi that Sir, I am feeling very insulted, Rahul retorted that I too am feeling very insulted.

Bhupen Bora said that when Rahul Gandhi said this, at that very moment he felt that his insult had no importance. I don’t have the capacity to bear this much. Bhupen Bora said that according to the information about the program of Priyanka Gandhi’s Assam tour, a Congress meeting was held on February 9. It was discussed in the meeting that an alliance has to be formed as soon as possible and only Bhupen can do it in a short time. According to Bhupen, the plan was that as soon as Priyanka Gandhi reached Assam, all the allies would announce the alliance together. He accused Assam Pradesh Congress President and Rahul Gandhi’s close aide Gaurav Gogoi that he broke the alliance because if his government was formed, he would not have been able to become the Chief Minister.

Bhupen Bora said that Gaurav Gogoi feared that if the alliance happened, his existence would be in danger. Bhupen Bora also alleged that many big leaders of Assam Congress had to be humiliated. Assam CM and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma met Bhupen Bora on Tuesday evening. After talking to Bhupen Bora, Himanta along with him had announced that the only Hindu leader in Congress would join BJP on 22 February. Himanta Biswa Sarma has also announced that BJP will contest Bhupen Bora from the safe seat of Assam Assembly. The dates for Assam assembly elections are expected to be announced in the first or second week of March. BJP has been forming the government in Assam for two consecutive terms. Congress has claimed that this time the BJP government will be uprooted from Assam.
