‘Team India will not reach the semi-finals…’ statement of Pakistan’s veteran player
Tezzbuzz Desk- The Super-8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is going to start from February 21 and cricket lovers are expecting tremendous matches. In this round, a total of 8 teams will face each other for a place in the semi-finals. The teams have been divided into two groups, where every match will be no less than a knockout.
Before the start of Super-8, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has created a stir by making a shocking prediction. Aamir believes that India will not be able to reach the semi-finals this time and its journey will end in the Super-8 only.
During a show, he said that except the match against Pakistan, Indian batting has appeared under pressure in other matches. According to him, the current form of South Africa and West Indies is very dangerous and they have the power to defeat any team.
Group-1 is considered to be the most difficult this time. India, South Africa and West Indies have won all four matches of their respective group stages. Whereas Zimbabwe made it to the Super-8 with three wins and one match remaining inconclusive. In such a situation, every team of this group is in rhythm and the matches are expected to be very tough.
Team India will play its first Super-8 match against South Africa on 22 February in Ahmedabad. After this, there will be a clash with Zimbabwe in Chennai on 26th February. India’s last Super-8 match is scheduled against West Indies in Kolkata on March 1.
For direct entry into the semi-finals, India will have to win at least two matches. Although the team’s current form and the advantage of home conditions make it a strong contender, every match will prove to be decisive in the tough competition of the Super-8.
Now it will be interesting to see whether Mohammad Aamir’s prediction proves true or India gives a befitting reply to the critics with its performance.
