India A by Sri Lanka A By defeating India by 5 wickets in the first semi-final ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 Made it to the finals. The match was played on Friday, 20 February at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok. Chasing a target of 119 runs, India A scored 119-5 in just 13.3 overs to register an impressive win and ensure their place in the final.

After bowling out Sri Lanka A Women for 118 in 19.4 overs, India’s batsmen displayed determination and composure, finishing the contest with 39 balls remaining.

Radha Yadav’s four-wicket hat-trick restricted Sri Lanka A to 118

Sri Lanka A won the toss and elected to bat first and made a steady start during the powerplay, scoring 47 runs in the first six overs. Opener Sanjana Kavindi top-scored with 31 runs in 35 balls, which included five fours, but she failed to score runs quickly.

Hansima Karunaratna provided the early momentum by scoring 14 runs from nine balls, which included three fours, but she was dismissed by Tanuja Kanwar. However, Sri Lanka’s middle order failed to take advantage of this platform.

Captain and wicketkeeper Anushka Sanjivani scored only six runs, while Satya Sandipani contributed 15 runs in 15 balls. Shashini Gimhani gave some hope by scoring 22 runs in 17 balls, which included a six, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

The turning point came through India captain Radha Yadav, who bowled the match-winning spell, taking 4 wickets in 3.4 overs. His left-arm spin decimated the lower order, taking vital wickets in the final overs. Prema Rawat also put in an impressive performance, taking 2 wickets in four overs, which included a maiden.

Tanuja Kanwar also took two wickets, while Minnu Mani and Saim Thakor took one wicket each. Sri Lanka A collapse from 100/5 to 118 all outthe last five wickets fell for only 18 runs.

A disciplined bowling effort ensured that India faced a manageable target on a balanced surface.

Aggressive start sets the tone for India A’s run-chase

India A chased the target aggressively from the start, scoring 54 runs in the powerplay. Although Nandini Kashyap was out for 13 runs in the fifth over, the pace never slowed down.

Vrinda Dinesh played a brilliant inning of 42 runs in just 20 balls, which included eight fours and her strike rate was 210. His fearless strokeplay decimated Sri Lanka’s bowling attack and turned the game towards India.

Anushka Sharma provided strong support by scoring 27 runs in 18 balls, which included five fours. The pair put on a vital partnership of 47 runs for the second wicket, effectively taking the game away from Sri Lanka.

Although some early wickets fell in the middle overs – including Sharma and Tejal Hasabani – India remained comfortably ahead at the required rate.

After a brilliant bowling performance, Radha Yadav also delivered a memorable performance with the bat. He was promoted up the order, scoring 31 not out from 18 balls, which included seven fours, and his strike rate remained above 170. His composed innings ensured that there were no last-minute obstacles. Minnu Mani was run out at the last moment, but by then the result was clear. Mamta Madiwala remained unbeaten as India A crossed the target in the 14th over.

Sri Lankan bowlers failed to stop the aggressive Indian batsmen. Shashini Gimhani took two wickets but gave away 33 runs in her three overs. Yasanti Nimanthika took one wicket, while the rest of the attack struggled to exert sustained pressure.
