Himachal Pradesh Entry Fee: Now the cold air of the mountains can be heavy on the pocket, Himachal government increased the entry fee by about two and a half times.

While issuing the new barrier policy of the state, the government has increased the entry tax by about two and a half times. This will have a direct impact on the tourists and business activities who enter Himachal with their trains or commercial vehicles. However, vehicles with Himachal registration will be exempted from entry tax as before. The government has also made Fastag mandatory.
According to new rates
Light vehicles from outside states: increased from ₹70 to ₹170
13-seater vehicle: increased from ₹110 to ₹170
Heavy vehicles: increased from ₹720 to ₹900
JCB and construction material vehicles: increased from ₹ 570 to ₹ 800
Tractor: ₹70 to ₹100
Double axle bus/truck: ₹570 (as is)
Keep in mind, vehicles registered in Himachal will get exemption. The impact will mainly be on commercial and tourist vehicles from outside states. Commercial vehicles will be charged Rs 600 instead of Rs 320, 32 seater mini bus will be charged Rs 320 instead of Rs 180, double axle bus and truck will be charged Rs 570, tractor will be charged Rs 100 and rickshaw will be charged Rs 30. Quarterly and annual passes will be made on the basis of the entry fee fixed for the financial year 2026-27. The Tax and Excise Department has fixed the entry fee rates for 55 toll barriers of the state.
New rates will be applicable on 55 entry barriers
Major entry points of the state such as Govindghat (Sirmour), Kandwal (Nurpur), Mehatpur (Una), Baddi, Parwanoo and Garamora (Bilaspur) record the highest commercial traffic.
The government is preparing to implement the FASTag system at these barriers, so that the payment process can be fast and transparent.

The auction of entry barriers will now be conducted by a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), which will also include officials from the Excise and Taxation Department.
